Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel

Your journey begins once you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). There, Everest Chopper representatives will welcome you. After that, you will be transfer to your luxury hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel, you take some well-deserved rest. After that, you can explore the vibrant streets of Thamel and the bustling places of Kathmandu, where you get a glimpse of local life, colourful markets, cozy cafés, and the city's rich blend of culture, cuisine, and energy. 

Later, you will meet your guide who briefly describes the trek. Along with it, the guide also provides information about trekking highlights, altitude advice, safety instructions, helicopter return details and packing essentials. If you haven't carried any essential gear, you can buy it on this day or tomorrow. You spend the entire day allowing yourself to relax, prepare for the adventure ahead, and soak in the atmosphere of Kathmandu before beginning the journey.

Day 2: Guided sightseeing of Kathmandu's cultural and heritage landmarks. Complete final preparations for the trek

Day 2 is dedicated to deeply exploring the Kathmandu valley. After a delicious breakfast, your driver and guide will take you on a tour of the city in a private car. On this day you will be visiting the world heritage site, which is renowned for its cultural and historical importance.

You will visit the Kathmandu durbar square, which is recognized for its rich cultural heritage, ancient temples, and stunning Newar architecture. Besides this, you will also be able to visit the Syambhunath Stupa, which is known for its religious and historical significance and its white and gold appearance. Then, you will also be able to visit the Pashupatinath temple, which is known for its religious and historical significance as well as its pagoda-style architecture and its traditional cremations that occur in the Bagmati River.

In the late afternoon, you return to your luxury hotel. After returning, you begin to pack your belongings and prepare yourself for the upcoming exciting adventure in high-altitude places.

Day 3: Scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi along the Trishuli River.

After a delicious breakfast, you carry your belongings and take a seat in a private vehicle for a scenic drive to Syabrubesi. The road gradually leaves the bustling city behind, ascending through the northwestern hills, following a roaring Trishulu river to arrive at Syabrubesi. The route goes through the Pasang Lhamu highway, areas like Galchhi, Trishuli bazaar and then Dhunche, offering breathtaking views of the Trishuli river, green terraced fields, and the majestic Mount Ganesh. Moreover, you can also witness the terraced rice and millet fields, traditional Nepali villages, deep river forges and a high suspension bridge on the way to Syabrubesi.

In the afternoon, you take a short break where you eat a warm lunch while witnessing the beautiful view of the surroundings. Once you eat lunch, you continue your scenic drive. As you drive near the Syabrubesi, you can feel the air getting fresher, cleaner and cooler. After driving for around 7 to 8 hours, covering a distance of 122 km, you arrive at Syabrubesi - a small town serving as a gateway to Langtang Valley. There, you receive your dinner before spending a night in a cozy room.

Day 4: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

Your trekking journey starts from this day. In the early morning, you will get your relaxed breakfast. After that, you begin your trek towards Lama Hotel. You leave the Syabrubesi while crossing the high suspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi river. The trails follow the riverbank before ascending through terraced fields, dense forest and small settlements. After trekking for a few hours, you will reach the Langtang Khola. As you cross the Langtang River, you will enter the dense subtropical forests, which are full of oak, maple, pine, and bamboo trees. After trekking for a while, you will reach Rimche village, which is famous for its serene environment and traditional stone houses with stunning views of the surrounding hills and forests.

From this village, you trek through a deep forest with waterfalls and moss-covered rocks. During the day, you receive a delicious lunch. Once you eat lunch, you ascend through the forest terrain. After trekking for a few hours, you arrive at the Lama hotel, where you eat a relaxed dinner before staying overnight. The total trek duration of day 4 is around 5 hours.

Day 5: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village

After having a leisurely breakfast, you can pack your bags and continue your journey towards Langtang village. The trek continues from Langtang Khola upstream, following the dense forest of oak, maple and rhododendron. You have to cross Ghodatabela, forest, and valley, to reach Langtang village. While trekking, the trail slowly opens up, offering scenic views as you walk through yak pastures and scattered settlements. In between the route, you will also cross Thangshyap village, witnessing mani walls and colourful prayer flags.

In the afternoon, you take a moment to rest at the scenic point where you eat your relaxed lunch while observing the beautiful views of the surroundings. As you have your lunch, you have to ascend through open grasslands and experience the beauty of the mountains. As you trek through Lama Hotel towards Langtang village, breathtaking views will be revealed of the wide valleys, cascading water falls, wildlife, Langtang Lirung and a glacial river. You arrive in Langtang Village, a Tamang traditional settlement, after approximately five hours of trekking. The village offers beautiful mountain scenery, as well as a rich Tamang culture. After a delicious meal, you stay overnight in Langtang village.

Day 6: Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa

Following a hearty breakfast, you continue your trek towards Kyanjin Gompa. The trekking trail gradually climbs up through open yak pastures, alpine meadows, and magnificent glacial valleys through Langtang Khola River. While trekking further and climbing higher up, you will be able to see that the valleys gets wider and offer a chance to witness awe-inspiring views of Langtang Lirung and other peaks. Additionally, you can also witness glacial streams, moraines, stone-built Tamang houses, mani walls, chortens and prayer wheels.

You have to cross Mundu and Sindum valley before reaching your destination on day 6. After 3-4 hours of continuous walking, covering 6 km, you reach Kyanjin Gompa - a beautiful high-altitude settlement surrounded by snow-covered peaks and glaciers. Here, you stay overnight after having your dinner.

Day 7: Acclimatization and exploration around Kyanjin Gompa. Optional hike to Cherko Ri (5,050 m) for panoramic views of Langtang and Ganesh Himal

Day 7 is dedicated to adjusting to high-altitude places where the air is thin. After a warm breakfast, you, along with your guide, go on a sightseeing tour around the Kyanjin Gompa. On this day, you explore the Kyanjin gompa monastery - a 300-year-old Buddhist monastery made up of Tibetan-style architecture. Following this, you also visit the Yak Cheese Factory - a historic Swiss-supported cheese factory, established in 1955. You can also hike to Langtang Lirung Glacier/Base Camp to witness ice walls and moraines. 

If you are interested in hiking, the Everest chopper team also organizes the optional hike to Tserko Ri, which has an altitude of 5,050 m. It is a popular and rewarding hike that offers a 360-degree, panoramic view of the Langtang range, Dorje Lakpa, Ganesh Himal, and even Shishapangma in Tibet on clear days. After performing all activities, you return to your tea house / lodge, where you receive your leisurely dinner before spending the night in a comfortable room.

Day 8: Helicopter flight from Kyanjin Gompa back to Kathmandu

This is the day you're all waiting for, as on this day, you have a smooth helicopter ride to return to Kathmandu. After enjoying a warm breakfast, you pack all your belongings and be ready for the helicopter flight. Once a helicopter arrives, you take a seat and return to Kathmandu while soaking in the final views of majestic mountains such as Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Ganesh Himal, Yala Peak, Jugal Himal, and Shisapangma. Other than mountains, you also witness Gosaikunda lake, deep valleys, cascading waterfalls and pristine glaciers. This chopper flight offers you a chance to admire the splendor of the Himalayan mountains before the final descent. 

After around 45 to 60 minutes, you arrive at Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Upon your arrival, you can buy the souvenirs while exploring the famous places in the Kathmandu valley. In the evening, you will return to your hotel to pack your essentials as in the next day, you will return to your home country.
